Summit conversations on American healthcare: May 6
On April 7, CEO John Arensmeyer participated in an expert panel hosted by former HHS Secretary and Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson and Hon. Richard Gephardt, former majority leader, US House of Representatives. Topics included healthcare and the economy, cost drivers, access to healthcare, health IT, and restructuring incentives.
The Madison event was the third in a series of ten “Summit Conversations on American Health Care for the 21st Century,” sponsored by America’s Agenda. The first two events were held in St. Louis and Miami; a fourth is scheduled for San Francisco in May.
The panel was moderated by John Harwood, chief Washington correspondent of CNBC and political writer for The New York Times. Dr. Ken Thorpe, director of health policy for the America’s Agenda Health Care Education Fund, was present as the economic advisor.
